The sermon this morning was one of great encouragement, showcasing one of my favorite passages to turn to when the ultimate goal feels out of reach. New Year’s Eve is a convenient and traditional time to think about big goals, too!
Paul said the one thing he does to keep going towards the goal is
“…forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead…”
He liked to compare our journey to a race. The only way to finish it is to endure how hard it is along the way and always to be thinking about the next step.
For those of you who believe what I believe, the ultimate goal is eternity with Christ.
And nothing this side of eternity is worth stepping out of that race.
